چکیده
A timber-concrete composite (TCC) slab composed of nail-laminated timber (NLT) and topping concrete (TC) was developed for flooring applications. The NLT laminated alternately with lumber plywood. To investigate the nonstructural dimensional behavior TCC slab, temperature, relative humidity (RH), changes exposed to outdoor air were monitored 205 days. Temperature change transmitted directly both components, RH gradually NLT. Concrete pouring caused a sharp increase in width, which laminating direction nails. This resulted from swelling wood owing moisture mixture loosening nail lamination. member composition nail-laminating system, fastener type, volume help secure stability Cracks TC width deformation, recovered by drying shrinkage TC. Correlation analysis among RH, strain indicated that correlated strongly while those temperature. correlation between longitudinal three directions attributed notches designed mechanical connection.

Effects of Ambient Temperature and Relative Humidity on Subsurface Defect Detection in Concrete Structures by Active Thermal Imaging
Active thermal imaging is an effective nondestructive technique in the structural health monitoring field, especially for concrete structures not exposed directly to the sun. However, the impact of meteorological factors on the testing results is considerable and should be studied in detail. In this study, the impulse thermography technique with halogen lamps heat sources is used to detect defe...
متن کاملAir Temperature and Relative Humidity Study: Torgac Cave, New Mexico
Torgac Cave, located in south-central New Mexico is remarkable for at least three reasons: its extraordinary gypsum speleothems, its large bat population, and the unusually cold temperatures within the cave. It has been proposed that the presence of the bats and the speleothems may be related to the anomalous temperatures observed in the cave. This paper reports the results of a five week study...
متن کاملStructural Tests of Concrete Composite - Cross - Laminated Timber Floors Final Report
Experimental tests of a composite concrete-cross-laminated timber (CLT) floor system were conducted. The floor system was constructed with 5-ply CLT panels (6.75 in. thick) made composite with a 2.25 in. thick reinforced concrete topping slab. Four series of tests were performed using different specimen configurations and laboratory testing methods. Tests included: (1) Comparative one-way bendi...
متن کاملEstimation of Evolution of Relative Humidity Distribution for Concrete Slabs
Realistic prediction of concrete shrinkage and creep requires the calculation of the distributions of relative humidity at various times. Although the distributions of the relative humidity can be computed by numerical methods from the differential equation for diffusion, simple prediction formulas can facilitate structural analysis. The purpose of this paper is to present a simple formula for ...
